My Favorite Picture…
My wife and I have well over five thousand pictures of our family. This is my favorite, and it’s not even close. This picture was captured by our friend and very talented photographer, Viki Reed at a local park near our home. I like it because it tells the story of my family perfectly.
My little girl on the left… She is her mom’s twin. Her shoulders are back with confidence and strength as she calls out protectively to her little brother to stay with the group.
My son, the renegade… He just simply can not be restrained or contained. His love of life and ability to find joy in the simplest of God’s creations are a wonder to me. He’s off to his next adventure, and it probably includes jumping, climbing or spinning.
My beautiful wife… her head canted toward my daughter offering guidance and wisdom about nurturing a family and supporting her loved ones. Our hands are joined in unity… a team… a partnership in this journey, bonded by a love that has grown stronger with every challenge thrown our way.
Me… holding tightly to my wife’s hand. My shoulders are back trying to portray confidence for my family, but my head slightly down… deep in thought… introspective… in love with my family.
We are walking in a general direction, unsure what lies ahead. But we will arrive there together, with Eric leading the way.
i love this shot too. Best light of day, sharp, colors so on fire…so sweet. No one told you to walk like that you all just became The Incredibles on your own
by the way you have me in tears too, so so so incredibly kind and touching
I think it is simply amazing because it was not a "posed" picture – we didn't even know it was snapped until we saw all the images from that day – but it did –in an instant– create a perfect snapshot to sum up our family story!
beautiful… picture and description. 🙂 Thank-you for sharing this here 🙂
A beautiful picture of a beautiful family. 🙂
I agree, it's a lovely photograph, and a great blog post!
"With Eric leading the way…" – So beautiful… Thanks for sharing this to the world.
Damn – tears.. Again!! Just your son running off and away, how many times have I experienced that with our son. Impulsive & in the moment. I’m always calling him back.
