Be Noticed

Did you know that peacocks don’t grow their feathers until about the age of 3?

I found this fact interesting. It’s around that age when our son really started standing out from a crowd with his happy noises, flappy hands and jumping bean legs. It got him noticed. It made him stand out from all the other ‘birds’.

And did you know, despite having feathers that are about 6 ft long and comprise over 60% of their body, they can still fly? They carry the feathers with them and fly just the same as any peacock without feathers. There is no statistical difference in flight performance (I actually looked up that fact – I’m not a bird expert LOL) or capabilities since they learn to navigate flight as they grow up and into their feathers.

They do fly shorter distances at a time, but they CAN fly and WILL get there in their own time…
