You Want Answers?
You want answers?
You want answers?
You can’t handle the truth!
Son, we live in a world that has ignorance and that ignorance has to defeated by people with guts. Who’s gonna do it? You? You, Autism Speaks?
We have a greater responsibility than you could possibly fathom. You weep for privacy and you wonder why we share so much. You have that luxury. You have the luxury of not knowing what we know: that opening up and sharing our struggles and victories probably saves families. And our existence, while silly and incomprehensible to you, saves families. You don’t want the truth because deep down in places you don’t talk about at parties, you want us on that keyboard… you need us on that keyboard.
We use words like “Like”, “Share”, “Reach”. We use these words as the backbone of a life spent advocating for something. You use them to make silly cat memes go viral.
We have neither the time nor the inclination to explain ourselves to the people who laugh and cry at the posts we share and then question the manner in which we share them. We would rather you just said, “thank you,” and went on your way.
Otherwise we suggest you pick up a laptop and start spreading awareness. Either way, we don’t give a damn what you think about our posts.
Actually, we give a lot of damns. We’re kind of insecure that way. But, you get the point. 🙂
