Endings and Beginnings

Last week kinda sucked.  For many different reasons….  It was filled with so many “endings” – and I cried for 2 days straight.

First was having to say goodbye to a family friend.   What an unexpected, sad situation to be so alive and seemingly healthy one minute – and then have things tragically unfurl into a deep dark sadness filled with painful loss.  So we said good bye, and prayed that this ‘ending’ of life could be filled with some new ‘beginnings’ of healing and picking up and moving on to create a new normal.

We also had our last IEP meeting at the middle school, and had to painfully acknowledge the ‘ending’ of working with such a fantastic team of teachers, aides, and other staff and administrators.  Although we are excited, hopeful and trying to focus on the new “beginnings” of his high school journey.

Finally, we are exhausted with the amount of stomach issues that Eric has been having – and the amount of cleaning, scrubbing and laundry that we are doing.   I finally made the call I needed to make- and after some tests -they confirmed what we already knew — that he was going to need to do another colonoscopy/endoscopy so he can be appropriately treated.   We are praying that this procedure will be the ‘ending’ of a painful few months for Eric and all of us — and the ‘beginning’ of happier, (cleaner) and more regular days!

I continue to pray for a simple, uncomplicated life.   I pray that all of these ‘endings’ will allow us to reflect and appreciate the journey and life behind us – and focus on making the new ‘beginnings’ ahead of us the best days yet.

Tomorrow is never promised to anyone.

So love freely and fiercely and promise to focus on the good!

Note: Picture is of a sunrise and sunset from the same beach in Nice, France – one of the few beaches where you can witness BOTH.  Look left in the morning for the sunrise – look right in the evening for the sunset….  Lots of beautiful Endings and Beginnings!
